My Bedroom Makeover

My bedroom has been a work in progress as many of you know! I received so many comments and DMs from people who were surprised I didn’t makeover my bedroom first. That was because I really wanted to take time and brainstorm the overall style I wanted to achieve. This is the biggest bedroom I have ever had haha so there was a lot of space to play around with... it was a little intimidating at first!

One of my favorite parts of my bedroom are the windows. I love the arched window and how much light the room gets. The sheer window treatments that were already in the bedroom upon moving in needed to go. Because of the arched window I installed one long rod across the wall and did the same for the other wall with 2 windows. I installed the rods higher up on the wall and it instantly made the entire room feel so much taller.

I loved how the board and batten wall looked in Marie’s bathroom and wanted to add it as an accent wall in my bedroom. It is extremely easy to create and I decided to go with the color Conifer Green by Behr. I couldn’t decide if I should do a pop of color or a more neutral sandy color but I’m so glad I went with the green. You can check out the full board and batten tutorial here!

Due to the amount of space in the room, I was able to add a little reading/lounge area by the arched window. I wanted to create a cute, cozy little nook. I found both chairs on West Elm and for the side table, I spray painted a bird bath haha.. yes a bird bath!

I think one of my favorite pieces of decor in the room is the rug! I found it at HomeGoods. It’s a genuine Turkish rug. The colors paired PERFECTLY with the entire room. I kept my bed more minimal with simple bedding and added sconces and a picture frame above my bed. I’m so happy with how the entire room turned out, it’s honestly my dream bedroom!
