Dining Room Makeover
While my first room makeover in my new apartment was technically the tiny room, I feel like my first official makeover was the dining room! I was really inspired by texture and color contrast, I wanted to include those key details throughout the space.

I wanted to have an accent wall and was drawn to using a dark color. I opted to use Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore. Besides the accent wall, the entire space needed to be painted white, along with the ceiling. The walls had a yellowish tint to them with baby blue trim along the ceiling...so a fresh coat of white paint was NEEDED. My go-to favorite white paint is Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore!
Once painted, I wanted to add the look of built in shelves since the accent wall had a cut out. I had 2 pieces of wood cut, added some brackets and painted everything in Hale Navy. Super simple and I loved the outcome! Once I added the rug, oak dinning table and classic black chairs- it was time to decorate!!

My goal was to add different textures throughout the space, like raffia, ceramic pieces, plants and terracotta accents. I added a vintage wood mirror on the accent wall and styled the shelves with various decor elements! Since the accent wall was the focal point, I wanted to keep the other walls simple with artwork and some greenery.
