My Guide to L.A. – Hotels
Whether you are looking for a mini staycation or a new travel destination, Los Angeles honestly has some of my favorite hotels. My favorite part of the entire travel planning process is booking the hotel. As someone who loves interior design, I like to find hotels that are uniquely decorated. I feel like it just adds to the experience and makes your trip that much more exciting. Los Angeles has an overwhelming amount of hotels, so I decided to help make your trip planning easier. Below you’ll find a list of some of my favorite hotels in LA, trust me they are all so beautiful!
Santa Monica Proper
If you’re looking to stay near the beach, this hotel is for you. The inside of the Santa Monica Proper is designed to perfection. If you love interior design like me, then you’ll really appreciate the fact that the entire hotel was designed by Kelly Wearstler. I love the neutrals, coastal elements, and unique art used throughout the hotel. They have a rooftop pool and the hotel is central to tons of shopping and great restaurants.
The Line Hotel
Located in Koreatown, The Line Hotel is known for its chic yet urban feel. One of my favorite features of the hotel is the gorgeous rooftop greenhouse restaurant. The hotel also has 2 really fun bars, Break Room 86 (think karaoke suites and boozy ice cream) and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (think disco era vibes). The rooms are extremely modern with floor to ceiling windows and concrete walls. I love how unique this hotel is!
The Hoxton
If the city life is for you, then The Houxton is the perfect mix of historic and trendy. It’s located right in the mix of Downtown LA and is walking distance to Grand Central Market, The Flower Mart, and tons of boutiques + restaurants. The vibe of the hotel is CA beachy meets old school glamour. I’m obsessed with the chevron floors and rattan accents. The entire hotel is stunning! The Houxton has a rooftop pool and 2 restaurants as well.
The Cara Hotel
Located in Los Feliz, The Cara Hotel is an experience! I say that because for locals, you will instantly feel like you aren’t in Los Angeles anymore. The hotel is inspired by nature and young artists. The aesthetic is very minimal, think linen fabrics with cream and neutral tones sprinkled throughout. My favorite part is the courtyard pool lined up with lanterns. I can only imagine how beautiful it looks at night.

The West Hollywood Edition
The Edition hotel is a recent addition to West Hollywood’s hotel line up on Sunset Blvd and it’s my favorite. It’s designed by Ian Schrager and I would consider the vibe very posh and modern. The hotel is much more on the “bougie” side but you’ll see how stunning it is when you step foot inside the lobby. It has a pool, basement club, spa, screening room, fitness center, lounge, and signature restaurant. You could honestly spend all day in the hotel haha. The views from the rooms are insane and you’ll honestly be living your best life.
