How to Refresh Your Home on a Budget
It’s common to feel unsatisfied or bored with your home after a while! Whether you feel like it’s a bit outdated, drab, or just over the way a room looks. It’s inevitable and at some point you will feel like your home needs a refresh, whether that be big or small! Sometimes our budget isn’t as big as our aspirations but that’s okay!
In today’s blog post, I’m sharing some of my favorite ways to refresh your home on a budget! These changes are cost effective and will have you feeling in love with your home again. When planning your to-do’s make sure to add these tips to the list.
1. Add a statement wall
A statement wall can be the perfect update to spruce up a bedroom, living room, kitchen, or dining room. You can opt for a playful pattern using peel and stick wallpaper or go bold with a fun paint color. Always remember that paint can easily be changed, a lot of people tend to think it’s a permanent decision. It’s also a fun weekend activity to do by yourself, with friends, or family! 2. Change up your rugs
A rug can really change up the entire vibe of a room. Whenever I’m doing a room makeover, adding the rug is one of my favorite parts. Thus being said, if you want an updated refresh- swap the rugs! Rugs also don’t have to cost an arm and a leg. I love the rugs at IKEA and on rugsUSA.com. They always have sales and offer so many affordable options. A rug can really change the entire vibe of a room!
3. Update your bedding
If your bedroom is feeling a bit blah, try changing up your bedding. It’s a lot more cost effective vs changing out the furniture and can make just as big of an impact. From your sheets, to your comforter, and even throw pillows, take a trip to Target for an upgrade. I personally love bedding with details, mine currently has minimal stripes. It just adds fun interest to the room. If you only like white bedding, try adding some pops of color with throw pillows and a throw blanket.
4. Replace hardware
It’s truly amazing what new knobs/handles or a new faucet can do! Switching out dated hardware can make a huge impact and add value to your home. The possibilities are endless and they are easy switches. Even if you are renting, you can swap out the renter grade hardware to some chic knobs from Anthropologie or cb2. Amazon also has some great affordable options!
5. Move around decor
If you are looking for an extremely budget friendly option, switch up your home decor. I remove all the decor from every room, place everything on a table so you can see each piece, and restyle room by room. This will keep things feeling fresh for $0! You’ll be surprised how much these simple swaps will refresh your home. This is also a fun activity to do with friends or family!
