A beautifully made studio pottery lidded jar with a generous globular body finished in a soft blue-grey glaze with horizontal wheel-thrown banding and a loose brushed abstract motif in white on the upper body. The domed lid is fitted with a elegantly turned double-tiered finial and sits snugly within the wide rim. The glaze has a quiet, watery quality with subtle tonal variation from pale blue to greenish-grey. A refined and collectible studio object with a strong sense of quiet calm.
