A striking and highly individual studio pottery jar of considerable presence, its cylindrical form finished in a rich dark brown-black glaze decorated with a bold abstract painted design in warm sandy beige. The painted motif has a freely gestural quality, a sweeping curved form with a spiraling head that evokes both a fiddlehead fern and a ghostly figure.
