Italian Glass Picture Frame with Scalloped Silver Detail, 1950's

This Italian glass picture frame, dating to circa 1950, sets a delicate silver-tone surround against a substantial clear glass panel. Scalloped metal edging and ornamental flourishes bring a decorative contrast to the thick rectangular base and softly green glass edges. Its layered construction makes a favorite portrait feel like a small work of art on a console or writing desk.
