A supremely elegant lidded copper pedestal tureen of neoclassical inspiration, its urn-shaped body raised on a square plinth base and fitted with a steeply pyramidal lid topped with two upright loop handles. The warm, burnished copper surface has developed a rich, deep patina ranging from amber to dark mahogany brown, the smooth planes of the lid contrasting beautifully with the curved body below.
